What Am I Looking At?

From yesterdays time-lapse post, a number of people asked the question, “What are you looking at?” In an earlier post I did, I mentioned how I take a lot of photographs and come up with a composition of what I would like the image to look like (no one wants to hang out for hours modeling for me). Usually I will print off a number of photo’s to reference while painting. I decided to “go green” and put my computer monitor to the side of my easel for this painting. The colors on a monitor are so vivid. So here is the photo of my setup.

Out of the Wilderness Time Lapse

Sorry for the delay posting this video. I was having some technical difficulties getting it to load and now I think we have things straightened out. I started this painting a few weeks ago. This six minute video covers the first few hours of painting. I hope that you enjoy this! Additional time lapse videos will be coming the next several days, so check back.

In His Light

Greg share’s an experience he had during the model shoot for “In His Light.” Greg thought that he would get some photos of the Jesus model and then find the right model for the child at another time. When the models wife and son showed up at the shoot he changed his mind.

I just started working on a new image today. The working title right now is “Out of the Wilderness.” I thought it would be fun to film the image as it progresses. Here is a 5 minute clip for those that are interested. Keep a look out for a time lapse of my progress (I’ll condense hours of painting down to a few minutes).
